Quebec Engineering Competition
From the 25th to the 28th of January 2018, about 250 engineering students from 12 universities all over Quebec will gather in Sherbrooke. Why you ask? To participate in the Quebec Engineering Competition (QEC). The event, supervised by the Quebec Confederation for Engineering Student Outreach (QCESO), aims to promote skills useful to all engineers through various technical challenges designed to test competitors.
Over the last several years, the University and city of Sherbrooke have put in place several measures to reduce greenhouse emissions, in accordance with the Paris Agreement. Currently ranked ninth in sustainable development amongst the world’s universities, the university of Sherbrooke is a leader in this area.
Moreover, sustainable development consists of: protecting the environment, social equity and socially responsible economic development. Throughout the competition, the participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in tasks related to the theme, illustrating the fact that the environment and sustainable development are an integral part of engineering’s future.
